Knowledge! What is the difference between axial flow fans and centrifugal fans?

Axial flow fans and centrifugal fans are two different products in the fan category. Their main functions are also devices for ventilating the air in the environment. If you don’t know the difference between axial flow fans and centrifugal fans, you may choose the wrong one blindly and hastily. The product will definitely not achieve the expected results, so how to distinguish between axial flow fans and centrifugal fans, and how to choose?

1. Different appearance: the axial flow fan is basically cylindrical in appearance, and the centrifugal fan is snail-shaped in appearance.

2. The exhaust directions are different: the exhaust direction of the axial flow fan is straight along the direction of the axis, the air inlet and exhaust outlet of the fan are on an axis parallel line, and the exhaust direction of the centrifugal fan is perpendicular to the air inlet. Directional, it can achieve 360-degree exhaust in specified directions.

3. Different degrees of installation difficulty: The installation of axial flow fans is relatively simple, usually installed directly on the wall or connected to the air duct. The installation of centrifugal fans is more complicated.

4. The difference between air volume and air pressure: the air volume of the axial flow fan is larger and the air pressure is smaller, while the air volume and pressure of the centrifugal fan are relatively large. If the pipeline has many elbows, the exhaust distance and the air supply distance are relatively long, and the pipeline resistance If it is large, a centrifugal fan must be used.

5. The motor connection methods of the fan are different: the motor connection of the axial flow fan is generally inside the fan body, while the motor of the centrifugal fan is connected by the shaft, usually outside the fan exhaust cylinder.
