Do you know the history of HVAC?

At the beginning:

 

Dating back to ancient Greece and Rome, houses (or villas) were fired in homes or under marble floors to keep warm. This is the beginning of residential heating.

 

In the 14th century, fans were developed, but they have been used to remove toxic gases from mines. Later, the fan concept will be redesigned and used to ventilate houses and other buildings. Also in the 14th century, chimneys began to be added to fireplaces and stoves to provide safer heating and better indoor air quality.

 

In the mid-1800s, the resistance coil was invented, and engineers discovered that the coil became hot and glowed red when energized.

 

It wasn’t until about the 20th century that the actual HVAC movement really appeared. In the early 1900s, it was discovered that by combining a coil system that circulates refrigerant with a large fan, it was possible to cool the air inside a building. The discovery was originally used to extract moisture from the air, but soon it was discovered that it not only eliminates moisture but also cools the air. The first air conditioner was quickly patented and began to enter the home in the late 1920s.

 

Nowadays:

 

In the late 1900s, the air conditioning process became reversible. A heat pump that can absorb heat from indoor air in summer to produce cooling, and can be reversed to produce heat and warmth in winter.

 

One thing for sure is…We are lucky to be able to use HVAC in our daily lives today!
